ANSWER: REPLACE SPECIFICATION SECTION 02085 2.01.A IN ITS ENTIRETY AND REPLACE WITH THE FOLLOWING: “PVC SEWER PIPE 4-INCHES THROUGH 15-INCHES DIAMETER SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM D3034, ALL WITH SDR OF 35 UNLESS NOTED, AND SHALL MEET THE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND EXCEPTIONS TO THE AFOREMENTIONED SPECIFICATIONS THAT FOLLOW. Additional Description Sealed bids are invited and will be received by the City of Torrington, at the office of the City Purchasing Agent, City Hall, 140 Main Street, Room 206, Torrington, Connecticut 06790 until 11:00 A.M., March 26, 2020 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud. In the event of the closure of City Hall, the bid will be opened at same time on the following business day that City Hall is opened. Each bid must be submitted on the forms provided and in a sealed envelope bearing on the outside, the name of the bidder, his address, and the name of the project for which the bid is submitted, bid number and bid opening date/time clearly identified on the outside of the envelope/package. A bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid shall accompany each bid. A non-collusion statement for Prime Contractors and any addendum acknowledgement must also be submitted at the time of the bid. The project consists of, but is not limited to: the furnishing of all equipment, labor, material, plant, and superintendence necessary for approximately 2,600 linear feet of new or replacement sewers including bituminous pavement restoration, service laterals, precast concrete manholes, cast iron frames and covers, temporary bypass pumping, dewatering, loaming and seeding, wetlands protection, traffic control and associated miscellaneous work for the City of Torrington. The Contract Documents will be available March 5, 2020. Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to the BidDocs Online, Inc., to cover mailing costs. A performance, labor and materials bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the accepted bid will be required. Bids to receive consideration, must be in the hands of the authorized representative, no later than the day and hour mentioned above. Any bid received after the date and time specified will be rejected. The City of Torrington reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, or; to award the contract to a bidder other than the lowest bid, and to award the contract as it feels will best serve the public interest.
