TO
HEMLOCK PUMPING STATION FORCE MAIN REPLACEMENT
CONTRACT NO. 40
The following changes and additional information are hereby made part of the Contract Documents.
SPECIFICATIONS
1. DELETE Section 00300 Form For General Bid in its entirety, and Replace with new Section 00300R Form For General Bid.
2. REVISED Section 2.01 MATERIALS in specification 02630, page no. 02630-2 as following.
A. Ductile iron pipe shall be a rubber ring compression type joint (push on), Thickness Class 54, shall be the size shown on the Contract Drawings, and conform to ANSI A21.11. All pipes shall be made of grade 60-42-10 ductile iron. All ductile iron pipe shall be centrifugally cast and conform to ANSI A21.51 and ANSI A21.50. All ductile iron pipe shall be lined with double-thickness, cement mortar in accordance with the latest edition of ANSI/AWWA, C104/A21.4 and ANSI/AWWA C151/A21.51 and seal coated. The standard exterior bituminous coating shall be provided. The pipe shall be in nominal laying lengths of 18 to 20 feet. All pipe joints shall be restrained and provided with a boltless, push-on joint capable of being deflected after assembly and conforming to ANSI/AWWA C111/A21.11 and with a pressure rating of 350 PSI. McWane Ductile Sure-Stop 350 gaskets, or equal. Designs using set screws or requiring field welding are not acceptable.
3. DELETE Section 2.02 C Manufacturers in specification 02630, page no. 02630-2.

| Additional Description |
The Town of Branford, Connecticut, hereby gives notice that sealed unit price Bids will be received for the Hemlock Pumping Station Force Main Replacement project. The project includes, but is not limited to, the replacement of existing 2,900 + LF of 8 inch cast iron force main with 8” ductile iron pipe from Hemlock Road Pumping Station to a discharge manhole on Brushy Plain Road.
The Work under the proposed Contract shall commence within 60 days after the date set forth in the Notice to Proceed and shall be completed within 195 days after start of Work.
The Purchasing Clerk for the Town of Branford, Connecticut will receive sealed bids until 11:00 a.m. Local Time on October 24, 2019, at the Finance Office, Town Hall, 1019 Main Street, Branford Connecticut 06405, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Plans and specifications for this project will be available for download at the Town of Branford website and at the CT DAS website. A printed set of plans and specifications are available for review during business hours after October 1, 2019, at the Town Hall Engineer’s Office 1019 Main Street Branford, CT 06405.
No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after the opening of Bids without consent of Owner.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, waive informalities or minor defects in bidding or to accept the Bid or Bids, which best serve the interests of Owner.
