In order for the mortar to bid, the wall should first be power washed. Are we to carry power washing the wall? Cleaning must be completed in accordance with the product manufacturer’s specifications and recommendations. 2. Is there any water hook up available on site to use? There is a hose with water available across the street in the island at the fountain. 3. There are no drawing to scale for quantities. Please confirm that we are to carry 3,800 square feet of pointing in our bid. Yes, the bid is for 3,800 sq. ft. face. The alternate additional square foot face dollar amount will be used for any average on the agreed square footage. Additional Description The Town of Branford is requesting bid proposals for the repointing of approximately 600 linear feet (3,800 square foot face) of seawall in Stony Creek, Town of Branford. Contract Documents will be available on the Town of Branford website www.branford-ct.gov. Bids will be received in the Finance Department until 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 25, 2019. No bids will be accepted after that time and date. Bids will be opened publicly immediately following on that same day. Bids must be held firm for sixty (60) days beyond the bid opening date. Attention of bidders is directed to certain requirements of this contract which require payment of minimum wages (C.G.S. 31-53(g)) and compliance with certain local, state and federal requirements. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. The Town of Branford has the right to accept or reject any and all bids.
