Additional Description The New England Carousel Museum (“NECM”) is seeking bids for installation of an air conditioning system and other associated work at its facility located at 95 Riverside Avenue, Bristol CT. Bid documents may be obtained at no charge from the following web site: https://biznet.ct.gov/SCP_search/ A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on July 16, 2019 at 10:00 am, at the proposed work location. Bids from firms not in attendance at this meeting will not be considered for award. Bids will be accepted until July 30, 2019 at 2:00 pm, at which time bids will be opened and read. Bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered for award. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest. Each bid shall be in a sealed envelope addressed to NECM, identified as "Installation of Air Conditioning System" accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the bidders base bid amount, in the form of a Bid Bond made payable to NECM issued by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non­discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25 % set-aside goals. The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. The requirements for prevailing wage rates are to apply to the resultant contract award. The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
