Noble Hall Roof Replacemenet & Masonry Restoration
Project Number: BI-RW-337/ECSU 2017-4
Project Description:
The work involves the replacement of approximately 23,500 gross square feet of low slope roofing, including membrane flashing and sheet metal. The existing roof system shall be removed to the existing wood deck or metal deck and replaced with a new fully-adhered EPDM sheet membrane. Restoration of exterior masonry walls including concrete repairs, masonry cleaning, brick replacement, 100% repointing and joint sealant replacement.
Summary of Work includes but is not limited to the following:
Base Bid:
1. Cleaning of all exterior masonry.
2. Replacement of deteriorated face brick.
3. Repointing 100% of exterior mortar joints.
4. Cleaning and painting steel angle lintels at window openings and installing membrane and sheet metal flashing at the lintels.
5. Replace exterior finish carpentry at south entrance to 1912 Building.
6. Removal of existing, fully adhered EPDM roofing and insulation and replacement with new, fully adhered EPDM roofing and insulation.
7. Replace joint sealant at existing windows and masonry joints.
8. Paint new and existing exterior finish carpentry at south entrance to 1912 Building.
9. Paint roof hatches and steel ladder at roof
Supplemental Bid No. 1:
1. All masonry and sealant work at the west elevation of the 1928 Building.
Supplemental Bid No. 2:
1. All masonry and sealant work at the west elevation of the 1912 Building.
Supplemental Bid No. 3:
1. Concrete repairs at entrance stair and ramp to the 1928 Building.
2. Apply traffic coating onto concrete at entrance stair and ramp to the 1928 Building.
3. Replace existing elastomeric coating with new elastomeric coating at exposed sections of concrete foundation and retaining walls.
4. Paint existing galvanized steel hand rails and canopy supports at the buildings.
5. Cleaning portico skylights
This bid is subject to Pre-Qualification of Contractors Pusuant to CGS. ss4a-100 for the following: Masonry, roofing. We have the standard 25% requirement for SBEs and DBE/MBE/WBEs in the contract.
This project does not exceed Threshold Limits, however this project may be subject to review and inspection by the Department of Construction Services and the State Fire Marshal.
There will be a MANDATORY pre-bid conference on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the facilities conference room, 2nd floor, facilities building, Charter Oak Road, Willimantic, CT. Late arrivals of 10 minutes or more will not be given credit for attendance or allowed to sign in.

Sealed proposals will be received in Gelsi-Young Hall Rm 344, Eastern Road, Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic, CT 06226 until 2:00 p.m. on the date shown above.
The successful qualified low bidder on this project must submit an Affirmative Action Plan. The plan must be filed within fifteen days after a bid has been accepted by the awarding agency.
The awarding authority reserves the right to waive technical defects or to reject any and all bids.
